Creating a Presentation with Mentimeter

This week I'm going to tell you about another web 2.0 tool I liked very much: Mentimeter!

You can use Menti for many different reasons. You can use it to do a little ice-breaker activity with a classroom for the first time, for an instant review on or at the end of any subject you present, or for a competition that will entertain students. The best feature of this site is that you can receive instant answers from students. You can create pages in many question types such as quiz questions, picture questions, word clouds, etc.

After creating the pages and selecting a theme, you can start the activity with the Present button in the upper right corner. If you wish, you can log in and use this presentation later from the main page.

You will see the screenshot of your presentation. You direct the students or the people you will use the presentation to menti.com address written on this screen. When you enter the site, a pin screen will appear, just like in Kahoot. Students can log in here and start giving their answers.

Students can answer the questions in the presentation using their smartphones. As the answers are visualized on the screen in real-time, we can create a fun and interactive experience with Mentimeter.

Students do not have to share their names when answering. Therefore, you can use this site in cases where you want to get honest feedback about it.

When your Mentimeter presentation is finished, you can compare data and share the results to analyze or measure students' progress over time.

The site is very simple to use. However, the features you can use for free are limited, so this can be said as a disadvantage of the site. However, I suggest you go to the site and check it out yourself!

Since the presentation I prepared is just to show you as an example, I am the only person who participated in the Mentimeter voting you see below. Normally, this voting will take place live, so it will become a much more active and enjoyable event.
