Augmented Reality Incorporated Teaching Material

Updated: Apr 15, 2020

Hey there!

I hope you guys are all fine. I have been staying home for more than a month now due to the COVID-19 but that doesn't mean I also stopped working :) This week I'm here with a worksheet designed with a rising technology type, AR. Augmented Reality is defined as ''a view of the real, physical world in which users find elements enhanced by computer-generated input.''

In the worksheet, we chose the topic ''Travelling'' and took our classroom to Rome. In the first section, we used 3 landmarks of Rome and we attached videos from YouTube to their pictures with an application called ARize. We designed this AR Incorporated Teaching Material to engage the learners and make them practice reading, listening and writing skills in a fun way. The first thing that students should do is to read the instructions you see below :

1. Install the app ARize and open it.

2. Scan the picture with your phone.

3. Watch the video and answer the questions according to the information you get from the video.

After they watch the video, they answer the questions using the information they learned from the videos and move on to the next section. The second section is about a famous museum and a famous food or event in that city, in our case it's Sistine Chapel and Gelato. In the third section, we asked students to write a diary entry as if they really been in Rome for a day.

We designed this material with my friends Bugra and Mert, using the online tool Canva. Mert prepared a video to show you how will students see these videos on their worksheet. I'm also putting the worksheet as a link for you to see it.

Take care and stay home, see you!
