Come on, It's 21st Century! : Learning

Updated: Nov 2, 2019

Hey there,

Today I'll be talking about 21st Century Learning. First things first, what is 21st Century Learning?

''The term 21st century skills refers to a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits that are believed—by educators, school reformers, college professors, employers, and others—to be critically important to success in today’s world, particularly in collegiate programs and contemporary careers and workplaces.'' as defined in The Glossary of Education.

As well as everything else, teaching should also be shaped according to the changing environment. Since we're in the information age, everything changes much faster than the previous century. So that some skills are becoming nearly obligatory to keep pace with the developing education system. Let's talk about them a bit.

These skills are the ones that every learner should know to be successful both in their academic and personal life.

Teachers must be familiar with these skills to apply them to their teaching program. Teachers must leave the ''teacher-centered class'' concept in the previous century and make their classes learner-centered.

I created a word cloud to combine the words I have learned about 21st Century Learning. As the teachers of the future, we should integrate these concepts and skills to be able to come up to the information age's standards.

That's all I have to say for today. Take care!
